Office
Procedures, Fees and Policies
My fees are affordable
and on the low end of the therapy fee spectrum.
Sessions are 60 minutes. Individual therapy is $100.00.
Couples and family sessions are $120.00 per hour.
90 minute sessions for couples and families are often more productive
and an option.
Fees are adjusted accordingly. A few lower fee time slots may be available,
as needed, based on income. Evening and weekend appointments require full
fees.
I also offer a free, initial 30 minute phone consultation.
Marriage Preparation
Counseling sessions are priced differently. Sessions are short-term, time-limited
and psycho-educational in nature and therefore, not therapy, per se. I
recommend an initial 90 minute session, $90.00. At that time, we determine
the number of sessions appropriate to your needs, based on the issues
and topics you wish to focus on. The average number of sessions is usually
between three and six. A three-session series is $240.00 (@ $80.00). For
four or more, the fee is reduced to $75.00 per session. Materials, handouts
and homework assignments are included.
I accept checks, cash,
Visa, MasterCard and debit card payments.
My policy regarding
insurance payments:
I do not work directly with insurance companies for the following reasons:
I feel strongly about protecting your confidentiality and privacy rights
and cannot guarantee that your personal information will remain private.
I object to labeling you with a clinical diagnosis that may become part
of your personal record and on a public data base. Most insurance companies
require a diagnosis and a comprehensive assessment (of your distress/illness)
and regular progress reports.
I am unwilling to allow insurance companies to determine the course, type
and duration of your therapy. That is between you and me.
I prefer to work directly with you around payment and to discuss options
that may accommodate your needs. If weekly therapy is too expensive for
you, one option might be to set up a bi-weekly schedule, taking into consideration
your needs and the nature of your issues.
If you do decide to utilize your insurance and they accept “out
of network” providers, I would be happy to give you a receipt/bill
for you to submit yourself.
